Free Party, Chicago, 7/21, Operation Push, Neke Theater, Urban Candy Events

I've got something to shout about, to scream about, and I've got to let you know what's on my mind. I was blessed to cross paths with the owner of Neke Theater, a beautiful organization that teaches children great things including acting, singing, and how to open up to people.

It keeps kids off of the street. When I learned of this great opportunity I immediately said that Urban Candy Events would help if needed, and needed we are! There are great things planned for the Together We Can event next Saturday at Operation Push and I can't wait. I'm talking face painting, fun, games, cotton candy, and children performing in the rear area of  Jessie Jackson's Operation Push off of 50th and Ellis.

But I also know how hard it was to get people to donate to and sponsor this event. Why do you think so? Why is so hard for some people to invest in the same teens that will nurse you in your old age? It really burns my biscuits when it appears these kids are being swept under the rug.

Question, are teens only important IF they are about to rob you or put a gun in your face? Because if they did do that, put a gun in your face, I'm sure you would give up all the money. So why not just share some of the money? I'm just asking. If you know a child bring them to have some fun.

Side note, had I not been in church with good friend and author Nate Gray, I would not have made this necessary contact. Thanks Nate!

Vera Wang: Broken Bridal Event Planning

Oh My Goodness, did you hear the news?? Sorry, but after 23 years I didn't expect designer Vera Wang to split from her hubby...especially before I planned a wedding using one of her extravagant dresses. WTF? I guess life happens. Good news is that they are going to keep the business running so they can continue to put out great product. Sorry, or congrats...which ever is appropriate. Here are a few of her amazing gowns:
