In planning events here at Urban Candy Events I have had to call upon some entertainers in the Chicagoland area. For a birthday party that I am booking for May, I thought that maybe a clown, or a few clowns, would be awesome! Besides the few that are scared of clowns, they usually get a party started right!
First I called Ding Dong "Chicago's Hip-Hop Clown" and I must say that when I found out I was speaking with Ding Dong himself I was quite pleased!! I've heard many things about Ding Dong but the most important is that he shows up on time AND gives a good show.
When I called a venue that I'm looking to book they advised that I COULD NOT book a clown WITHOUT first trying Melanie the Singing Clown. "I was a birthday clown for 15 years and I taught her everything she knows. Make sure she sings too, because that girl can 'sang'" So I took to the net and started researching Miss Melanie and I must say, her packages are awesome. Her packages are similar to Ding Dongs but she has the lady's touch, just as Ding Dong gives the manly version.
In my research I came across many clowns but the site that tickled me the most was Clowns2Go with Popcorn the "Hip-Hop" Clown (photo above). I am going to call and get their business/bulk rates and hopefully have something great and exciting to report back to you.
